Submit a Scholarship Application to the Qaid Staten Memorial Scholarship Fund
A maximum of 10 Scholarships of $1,000 are awarded per cycle based on available funds. The amount of each charitable contribution can be determined by the Board of Trustees subject to number of applicants and financial status of the Fund and any budgetary considerations.
Applications must be for undergraduate tuition or special programs. Special programs for high school level students are considered on a case to case basis. At this time, the Qaid Staten Memorial Scholarship Fund does not grant scholarships for post graduate education. Late arriving application materials cannot be considered. Applications are accepted throughout the year and reviewed twice a year. Applications for the Fall Cycle (in addition to FASFA forms and Official Transcripts) are due by July 1 and awardees will be informed by August 1, so that the funds can be used for the Fall Semester. Applications for the Spring Cycle (in addition to Mid Semester Grade Report, FASFA forms and Official Transcripts) are due by November 1, and awardees will be announced by December 1, so that funds can be used for the Spring Semester.
The Qaid Staten Memorial Scholarship Fund will decide the number of scholarships to be awarded based on funds available and applicant pool. Therefore, applicants are weighted by financial need based on our review of submitted FASFA forms, grade point average based on our review of an official transcript, essays, overall application and the submission of all required documents by the deadline. No exceptions can be made for late materials. It is our goal to assist as many qualified, in need students in their educational endeavors as possible.
Those who have received a scholarship from the Qaid Staten Memorial Scholarship Fund in the past must resubmit ALL of the required materials as each cycle stands on its own. There is no guarantee of a previous awardee receiving a scholarship in future cycles. Our rules and requirements are put in place to keep with our mission assisting as many qualified, in need students in their educational endeavors as possible. Students who have previously been awarded a scholarship must submit a closing essay outlining the impact of the scholarship on their lives before any new application can be considered.
For the Spring cycles, mid semester grade reports are required. These forms can be found online here.
Scholarships are also available for programs such as field trips, learning abroad, and other special educational opportunities. These applications will be considered by the board throughout the year. Above deadlines do not apply.
Any excesses caused by an awarded scholarship will be refunded by the academic institution to the Qaid Staten Memorial Scholarship Fund, not to the student.
